Last week, I shared one of our California adventures from our 4th of July long-weekend vacation. In addition to traveling to San Francisco and spending time with family in Sacramento, we also went to Lake Tahoe for a day. While Mike and I were tour guides in San Fran, we had never been to Tahoe, so Mike's sister and aunt guided us around for the day and did such a great job. However, that didn't stop Mike and I from occasionally yelling, "This is where we fly over in Soarin'!" "This is where they spray us with pine scent on Soarin'!"
First stop, at 8,000 feet, driving over the mountains:
Stop in Truckee for brunch:

Where we had breakfast - they were on Throwdown with Bobby Flay! |
First stop around the lake:
Second stop around the lake, looking at the snow:
Third stop around the lake, at the northern point:
Fourth stop at Camp Richardson:
Fifth and final stop at Emerald Bay:

Crazy drive down the hairpin turns |
