The Unofficial Start of Spring

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!  I know I'm a bit late with my recap, but I needed an extra day to get back in the game.  Mike's cousin and her fiance are in town this week, and it's been fantastic to see them and spend the holiday with them.  Obviously, we've been doing tons of Charleston things.  Seriously, if you want to visit the Lowcountry, April is definitely the time to do it (especially if you're from up North!).  Everything is in bloom, the weather is in the low 70s, and there is so much to do!

We started our long weekend on Good Friday at the high ropes course.  Last time we went to Wild Blue Ropes, it was at night for their Valentine's Day climb, so I was excited to try it during the day (when I could actually see how high I was off the ground - haha!).  After three hours of climbing, we rewarded ourselves with DeSano's pizza and Jeni's ice cream.

On Saturday, Mike and I headed downtown while Pam and Dena went parasailing and kayaking (adventurous, I know!).  We met up with Gillian for the first farmers' market of the year.  We bought tons of veggies, but my favorite stop was the fresh pasta and sauce.  We bought ravioli, pappardelle, and vodka sauce.  We had the pappardelle, vodka sauce, and some grilled chicken for dinner that night and it was amazing!! After the market, we stopped by Callie's for biscuits and took a long walk around the battery and Tradd Street to see all of the beautiful spring flower boxes and trees in bloom.

Easter Sunday was the perfect spring relaxing day.  We enjoyed a quick breakfast at Waffle House, and while we slowcooked a maple brown sugar ham, we sat by the pool and soaked up the sun.  I'd say we did pretty good for our first adult Easter with no parents to take the lead - haha!  Oh, and Mike also made a killer French Silk Pie!

Now we're into a fantastic week of sports!! Tonight is the men's NCAA championship, tomorrow is the women's championship (Go Huskies!), MLB's regular season started this week, the Family Circle Cup is in Charleston, and, of course, it's Masters week!!

Linking up (a little late) for: Weekend Recap, Weekending, and Monday Madness!
