And A Look Forward...

New year, new goals.

Time for those resolutions.  The last two years (2016, 2015) have been about bettering myself (healthy eating, exercise, and makeup), blogging, and family, and this year looks like it will be much of the same with one additional: travel.  We are looking forward to using our Southwest Companion Pass (every time Mike flies, I fly for free) in 2017!

1. Visit 3 new-to-us cities: combining that pass with our baseball bucket list is going to make for an awesome summer.  Our dream is to see a game at every MLB park together, and so far, we've done San Francisco, NYC (Yankees), Atlanta, Denver, and this year we're looking at Dallas, Chicago, Seattle, St. Louis, or Kansas City - any suggestions?

2. Style my hair everyday: Okay, don't laugh.  Last year, I really did well with my "wear makeup everyday" resolution.  While it might only be mascara, concealer, and blush, I really did feel more put together walking out of the house every morning.  This year, I need to stop leaving for work with wet hair.  I think if I spend 5 minutes blow drying it each morning, I will have even more confidence throughout the day.
3. Improve my health: Here is my vague, perpetual resolution.  This year, my ideas are: vitamins, more salads for lunch, consistent eating, and finding more outdoor activities I enjoy.  We'll see how it goes!
4. Cook one recipe from every cookbook I own: Thank you, Christy for this one!  Mike and I have definitely been better about cooking for one another, but I have all of these cookbooks with pretty photos that I need to use.  I am going to go sticky note crazy this month and find delicious recipes to make all year!

5. Stay in touch: Two years ago, I sent birthday cards to friends and family.  I love the way it feels when I got a card, and while I fulfilled that resolution for most of the year in 2015, I didn't send a single one last year.  Unlike my makeup resolution that really created a lifestyle change, I think I need one more try to get the same to happen with this one.  This year, in addition to birthday cards, I want to try to make one call per week and be more purposeful about replying to messages (emails and texts) when I receive them.

Lastly, because we all want to start our year and resolutions on the right foot, I am hosting a giveaway over on my Instagram page: Tartelette palette, new brushes, and a $50 Sephora gift card to look good and "look ahead" to the new year!  Click here to check it out and enter!

I vote for Dallas or Chicago for your trips - or both!! I love your goals and I could definitely get behind the hair styling - I just wear mine down pretty much every day lol! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

Travel suggestion for you...And you could knock 3 cities baseball cities out of it & more. Fly to STL (and we could meet up!) then rent a car to go up to Chicago (4.5 hrs away, visit lincolnland in Springfield on the way), do your thing in the windy city then drive up to Milwaukee for the game and breweries up there. Then fly home from there. If you wanted to throw KC in there, fly there originally, then 4 hr drive to STL and then Chicago and Milwaukee. You'd get a lot of the Midwest knocked out in one trip!

I've got a cookbook goal too - I want to cook every recipe in a vegan cookbook over 2017. :)
The hair one, I totally get - I throw my hair in a messy bun WAYYYY too much

Love your goals for this coming year, I think by saying drink more water or eat more health conciously is better than just saying oh lose weight or work out more. I vote for Chicago because of my Cubbies, but Dallas would be so much fun too!I need to work on hair styling too, I usually just go with wet or bedhead slightly combed down. Sometimes if it's real bad and I'm especially lazy a braid is the easiest option!

Super jealous of your companion pass, hoping to hit that tier someday! Loving your baseball stadium bucket list, we try to visit as many stadiums as we can too. So much fun! Cheers to 2017 gurlie <3

Okay, that cookbook resolution is one I should steal! For some reason, Michael's family seems to get us cookbooks every year, plus we've purchased a couple, so I counted and we have like 12 and we've probably made something out of three of them!!

Good resolutions and goals! I am going to borrow that cook book one. I definitely think you should visit Chicago, I have only been once and only for 24 hours but I can't wait to go back, so much to offer!

2016 was definitely a year where I got a lot of use out of my cookbooks and loved it! #5 is on my list for this year too-- it's something that's so easy to do, but if you're not intentional about it, the days just pass by and you miss holidays/birthdays & things!

Go to Seattle! That's easily one of my favorite cities ever... there are so many things to do and see there. You absolutely need to go to the PNW!

If you go to Chicago, you could check off TWO ballparks! Plus it's an awesome city :) I love the cookbook idea--I need to do that, too!

Come to St. Louis! Busch Stadium is such an experience, and there are so many other neat things here! Also, love your cookbook goal - I need to do that myself!

Yay! I love that you're adopting my cookbook goal! So far, I'm doing awesome! I cooked out of three of my cookbooks this week! I have an excessive amount of cookbooks though...

I fell in love with St. Louis when I went there. It was outside of baseball season so, while I took a tour, I don't really count it. Great stadium though! Pittsburgh is my all time favorite stadium! If you make it to DC this spring, you have to try and get in a Nationals game!

Tampa is a fun city ;)

You are going to love St. Louis and Seattle! I would go back to either city in a heartbeat.I finally got a new hairdryer and I want to do my hair more often too. I am getting it done on Saturday which should help motivate me to actually wake up early enough to dry my hair before I walk out of the door. The idea of sending cards is amazing- I may have to steal that one.
