Weekend adventuring: that's our thing! Charleston has all the best neighborhoods, and while downtown in the springtime or Avondale (anytime of year) will always be my favorite, Park Circle is definitely high up on the list. Park Circle is located in North Charleston, less than 10 miles from the historic city center and is literally exactly what it sounds like, a giant traffic circle (rotary - I'm from New England) with a big park in the middle. It's pretty residential off to the west, and to the east is an industrial area filled with shipping containers, oil transports, and train lines. However, when you exit Park Circle onto East Montague, before you get to the tracks, there is a fantastic little hidden gem, filled with some of my favorite restaurants in the whole city.
Last Sunday, Mike and I headed up to Park Circle to spend the afternoon. The weather was just into the 70s, and the trees were in bloom. I wore my new favorite dress from Gingy's that is just perfect for this time of year. I love how comfortable the stretchy nylon/spandex fabric on this Malvern dress is and the blue chevron is such a pretty pattern!
Our first stop of the day was at Orange Spot Coffee. Known for their delicious flavored lattes and sweet pastries, we grabbed a coffee and a breakfast-on-the-run to start our day. My favorite is their homemade toasted pecan syrup in any of their hot coffees and the bacon and swiss quiche.
Only two blocks away was our next stop, Commonhouse Aleworks, Charleston's newest brewery. I'll be back later next week to share more about Commonhouse in my latest installment of local Charleston breweries. They have a great set-up, and I can't wait to see how they progress with their beers over the coming months.
After coffee, breakfast, and beer, we took a walk around Park Circle in the beautiful weather. One of my favorite things about Park Circle is that there are so many cute spots (park benches, murals, flowering trees) to explore. Our last stop of the day was a late lunch at EVO Pizza. They have some of our favorite pizza in Charleston (OMG the pancetto and apples pizza with ricotta and broccoli rabe - yum)! Their selection of craft beer is right up there, too! If I hadn't given up sweets for Lent, we absolutely would have made a stop at EVO's bakery, directly behind the pizzeria, too.
If you're headed to Charleston, Park Circle is definitely worth the quick trip. If you're not in the mood for pizza, here are a few of our other favorites in the area: YoBo for Mexican food, Stems & Skins for charcuterie, cheese, and wine, Southern Roots for barbecue, and LoLA for authentic Louisiana cuisine.

All of your food posts really make it feel like Augusta is the last non-foodie city in the South, haha. I love seeing all of your adventures!
